The Office of Alumni Engagement invites you to As Told By Pascale Sablan. Architect Pascale Sablan, BArch ’06, will join Associate Chair of Undergraduate Architecture Jason Lee for a conversation about her work and the impact she would like to have on others and see in society through architecture and design.

With over 13 years of experience, Pascale Sablan has been on the design team for a variety of mixed-use, commercial, cultural and residential projects in the U.S. and abroad. Pascale is the 315th living African American female architect in the United States to attain her architectural license.

Pascale is the Founder and Executive Director of Beyond the Built Environment, LLC, positioned to uniquely address the inequitable disparities in architecture by providing a holistic platform aimed to support numerous stages of the architecture pipeline. To impact the culture, Beyond the Built Environment, elevates the identities and contributions of women and diverse designers through exhibitions, curated lectures, and documentaries that testify to the provided value of their built work and its spatial impact.

Pascale has lectured at the National Museum of African American Heritage & Culture, the United Nations Visitor Centre, Columbia University, Parsons The New School, Pratt Institute, and several other institutions. She has received several awards including the 2018 Pratt Alumni Achievement Award, the Emerging New York Architect Merit Award, the NOMA Prize for Excellence in Design, and the 2018 American Institute of Architects (AIA) Young Architects Award.

Pascale holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Pratt Institute and a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University.
