Join the Community of Support for Our Visionary Students

Pratt Institute’s MFA in Writing is a new and unique two-year program designed to enable creative writers to expand their writing practices toward an ongoing engagement with politics, culture, activism, and issues of social and economic justice. The foundation of our program lies in collaboration, grassroots organization, aesthetic experimentation, and the radical act of replacing a traditional discourse with a multiplicity of discerning voices.

Scholarships open a door to the future for gifted writers of any class, gender, or race. They allow writers the freedom and focus to develop their work without the burden of financial demands or the oppressive anxiety of future debt. Our mission is to create an endowed scholarship that will allow all of our MFA students to pursue their studies without financial worries. We also feel strongly that student scholarships are a key component in creating a creative space where these visionary writers can take aesthetic risks and engage the social and political needs of the present.

You can be an important part of this mission. You can help us build an endowed scholarship. Whether it is a single donation or an ongoing monthly gift, your contribution will bring us that much closer to creating The MFA in Writing Tuition Endowment Fund, which will allow young writers to dedicate 100 percent of their time to their activism and creative work.

Any amount is deeply meaningful, and appreciated.

Welcome to the Pratt MFA in Writing community.

Thank you!
